In 1955, Mr. Yang Tien-Fa, founder of Sinon Corp. established Sinon Chemical Factory by joining in partnership
to manufacture and distribute agricultural agrochemicals. Officially incorporated in 1959, Sinon Chemical Factory which marked the beginning of the Sinon enterprise was named as the Sinon Chemical Co., Ltd. and then expanded and reorganized in 1963 as the Sinon Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., In 1965, the Wangtien Plant was founded with huge investment to meet the need of ever-growing business. Situated in Datu Hsien, Taichung Hsien, the Wangtien plant, comprising of EC, WP and granules plants as well as biological and chemical research laboratories had been rated as one of the most advanced and equipped agricultural chemical factory in Taiwan. By 1978, Sinon had relocated its headquarter at Sinon Building to integrate staff and administration resources. In order to further its reasonable management and upgrade its competitiveness, Sinon Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., merged with subsidiaries: Ming-Feng Chemical Co., Ltd., Feng Mei Industrial Co., Ltd. and Feng-Nien Development Co., Ltd. in 1979. The new conglomerate became known as Sinon Corp.

Starting in 1982, Sinon began to establish its own agrochemical supply centers on every local level around the island in order to strengthen its domestic marketing system which allowed the farmers to be the direct beneficiaries of the price difference. In 1989, with the ever-expanding business scale, Sinon Corp. was officially listed in Taiwan Stock Exchange market with company founder Mr. Yang Tien-Fa as Chairman and Mr. Yang Wen-Ben succeeding as president.

In order to strengthen its physique and to pave the foundation of sustaining management, Sinon began to move towards diversified operation besides its original agrochemical business. In 1979, a plastics plant was established at Taya Hsien, Taichung County manufacturing plastic packaging materials and plastic sheets. In 1981, another food proceeding central plant was established at Wuri Hsien, Taichung County supplying mess, lunchboxes, and other food materials. Based on the technology and experience in fresh food processing, Sinon started a super market division in 1988 and opened the first supermarket at Tsao-Tun Town, Nantou County. Starting from here, Sinon’s supermarket had grown to 30 direct-own chain stores, 1 franchise store and 2 consumer products centers in 2004 and finally rated as the largest chain supermarket in central Taiwan area.

To participate in various public construction projects, Sinon began its reinvestment and establish Tung-Chia Enterprise Co. in Taichung City in 1992 and Sing-Wei Co. Ltd. In Taichung Hsien in 1993 to manufacture and sale pre-mixed cement. Charn-Hong Ding-Yuan Co., Ltd was also established in 1998 in Nan-Tou Hsien to operate pebble crushing, processing and sales.

In coping with the growing trend of information and computer industry, Sinon reinvested and established Knowledge & Service Information Co., Ltd. in 1983 to develop software services business. In 1993, Sinon reinvested and found Sinon Life Insurance Co., Ltd. which marked the formal starting point of Sinon’s entering into finance/insurance industry. In 1995, Sinon Bulls professional baseball team was organized under Sinon Professional Baseball Co., Ltd. To expand its chemical business, Syn-Tai Chemical Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was establish in 1995 focused on manufacturing and sale of drug material, intermediates and exact chemicals. With a view to upgrade its management efficiency through combining of manufacturing and business operation, the management center of the group was relocated at Wangtien Plant in Datu Hsien, Taichung County.

In addition to its diversified operation, Sinon had realized its vision of “Rooted in Taiwan and marching towards the world.” by establishing Sinon do Brazil in 1999, Sinon Austria in 2002, Sinon USA & Sinon Thailand Co. in 2003, Sinon EU GMBH in 2004 to further expand into the huge global market and operate as an active member in the world stage.
